ACC scraps its flag­ship event in Chica­go as Covid-19 fears spread faster than the virus

The Amer­i­can Col­lege of Car­di­ol­o­gy has de­cid­ed to can­cel its huge an­nu­al flag­ship event, sched­uled for Chica­go in late March.

With coro­n­avirus fears spread­ing faster than the virus, the Bio­gen out­break af­ter a meet­ing of on­ly 175 peo­ple in late Feb­ru­ary has helped il­lus­trate the po­ten­tial dan­gers of even medi­um-sized events. This is the first time in 69 years that the event has been can­celled.
