After spearheading historic Covid effort, Pfizer vaccine R&D chief Kathrin Jansen to retire
Kathrin Jansen, the longtime vaccine researcher and Pfizer veteran who spearheaded a historic campaign to develop a Covid-19 shot, will retire later this year.
As the head of vaccine R&D at Pfizer, Jansen shaped and led the collaboration with BioNTech around the mRNA vaccine that would later become known as Comirnaty (or, to more people, the Pfizer vaccine) — the crowning achievement in an already illustrious career that brought three other life-saving inoculations to the market.
