Almost 9 in 10 Americans want the FDA to explain why some drugs are rejected, new JAMA survey finds
A survey of more than 1,000 American adults showed that 86% of participants supported the FDA’s disclosure of why certain drugs are not approved, according to the results of the survey from Johns Hopkins medical professors published recently in JAMA.
The survey comes as the FDA does not currently explain to the public why it issues complete response, or rejection, letters to pharmaceutical companies for certain drugs, and the public is left to tease out what occurred from the companies’ comments.
