Big Pharma PACs blanket the election field with millions in contributions ahead of midterms
Pharma companies may be up in arms with Democrats over their recently passed legislation to allow Medicare to negotiate certain expensive drug prices, but their political action committees (PACs) aren’t showing it, with contributions for both Democrats and Republicans across the country.
According to Federal Election Commission’s campaign finance database, the PACs for Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Sanofi, Merck, Novartis, AbbVie, Bristol Myers Squibb and Eli Lilly contributed more than $7 million to national and state political campaigns last year and so far this year.
