Biogen’s Covid-19 tally breaks past the 100 mark, feeding the state total as the contagion wreaks havoc
The number of new Covid-19 cases continues to swell in Massachusetts, with the Biogen outbreak providing the bulk of the new cases as health officials brace for a wave of sick patients in the weeks to come.
The latest tally from the state on Sunday evening was 164 cases — 45 confirmed and the rest presumptive after state testing detected the coronavirus. That’s an increase of 56 over the last 3 days — adding 26 in one day — with 108 cases now linked to Biogen staffers or their close contacts.
