Retired Yankee baseball star and now musician Bernie Williams is working with Boehringer to raise lung disease awareness through his music.

Boehringer sings a new tune with spokesper­son Bernie Williams in newest lung dis­ease cam­paign

For the past five years, for­mer New York Yan­kees slug­ger Bernie Williams has been the face of Boehringer In­gel­heim’s “Breath­less” cam­paign aimed at rais­ing aware­ness about id­io­path­ic lung dis­ease (ILD). Now Boehringer is evolv­ing the cam­paign and Williams, who’s al­so a Gram­my-nom­i­nat­ed mu­si­cian, is com­ing along.

Along with the celebri­ty vo­cal coach Er­ic Vetro, Williams is help­ing Boehringer launch “Tune In to Lung Health” of­fi­cial­ly on Wednes­day. A new pub­lic ser­vice an­nounce­ment about ILD will be screened first on Thurs­day evening at a Yan­kees home game ver­sus the Red Sox where Williams will per­form the na­tion­al an­them.
