Bristol Myers Squibb is reaching out to employers with a new program offering advice on how to support MS patient and caregiver employees

Bris­tol My­er­s' on­line ini­tia­tive ad­vo­cates work sup­port for MS pa­tients and care­givers

Bris­tol My­ers Squibb’s lat­est mul­ti­ple scle­ro­sis ini­tia­tive is go­ing to work — lit­er­al­ly. Its new “MS Work Space” pro­gram tar­gets em­ploy­ers with a suite of on­line ed­u­ca­tion and ad­vice to help them sup­port pa­tients with MS.

One of the tools is an al­go­rithm to help com­pa­nies es­ti­mate how many em­ploy­ees are like­ly af­fect­ed by MS, while oth­ers of­fer ben­e­fit check­lists and con­ver­sa­tion starters for hu­man re­sources. The pro­gram al­so in­cludes a pod­cast se­ries with ex­perts in man­aged care, ben­e­fits man­agers and pa­tient ad­vo­cates dis­cussing a wide range of top­ics such as ac­com­mo­da­tions, MS care­givers and work­place pro­duc­tiv­i­ty and fi­nan­cial ef­fects for both em­ploy­ers and em­ploy­ees.
