Covid-19 roundup: So­ri­ot — vac­cine could be ready by year's end; WHO omits remde­sivir from de­vel­op­ing coun­tries plan

As­traZeneca’s Covid-19 vac­cine could be ready for large-scale dis­tri­b­u­tion by the end of this year, CEO Pas­cal So­ri­ot said in an in­ter­view Thurs­day morn­ing.

Speak­ing with Bloomberg, So­ri­ot said that de­spite the com­pa­ny’s Phase III tri­al be­ing de­layed ear­li­er this year, a resur­gence in Covid-19 cas­es has al­lowed re­searchers to gath­er the da­ta that they need. The British drug­mak­er is on track to re­port the late-stage re­sults by the end of 2020.
