Covid-19 roundup: UK adds $125M to build a new vac­cine man­u­fac­tur­ing cen­ter; Pfiz­er’s $2 bil­lion con­tract sets bench­mark vac­cine price — for bet­ter or worse

Like the US and oth­er coun­tries, the UK has been scram­bling to get in the front of the line for sup­plies of new Covid-19 vac­cines bar­rel­ing through the pipeline. No one wants to be wait­ing at the back when some­thing comes along that can prospec­tive­ly end the pan­dem­ic and stop the eco­nom­ic tur­moil as­so­ci­at­ed with the out­break.

And now, the UK gov­ern­ment is in­vest­ing $125 mil­lion to make sure it’s ready for any fu­ture pan­demics com­ing along.
