Covid-19 roundup: Pfiz­er and Mod­er­na won't at­tend White House­'s 'Vac­cine Sum­mit' — re­port; Sino­vac clar­i­fies ef­fi­ca­cy num­bers

Though the White House is plan­ning on host­ing a “Vac­cine Sum­mit” on Tues­day, two ma­jor play­ers will not be at­tend­ing.

Pfiz­er and Mod­er­na have both re­port­ed­ly de­clined in­vi­ta­tions to the event, ac­cord­ing to STAT News, a move com­ing af­ter Pfiz­er point­ed­ly not­ed last month that the com­pa­ny did not re­ceive any mon­ey from Op­er­a­tion Warp Speed to de­vel­op its Covid-19 vac­cine with BioN­Tech. That launched a ver­bal back-and-forth with Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump, who con­tin­ued to in­sist Pfiz­er was in­deed part of the pro­gram.
