Dems forge limited agreement on Medicare drug price negotiations
Democrats patted each other on the back for officially coalescing around a prescription drug plan that will let Medicare negotiate a limited set of drug prices, but analysts are already poking holes in the Dems’ plans and there’s a lot still riding on what’s exactly in the text of the bill (update: here’s the drug pricing bill text from the House Rules committee, beginning on p.1977).
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised the agreement yesterday, noting that it will deliver “strong drug price negotiations” to lower prices for seniors and halt price hikes above inflation, as well as create a new $2,000 out-of-pocket limit for seniors’ expenses in Medicare Part D.
