Mir­ror­ing fed­er­al ef­forts, De­San­tis signs new law on drug price trans­paren­cy, PBM re­forms

Flori­da Gov. Ron De­San­tis on Wednes­day signed in­to law new PBM re­forms that po­ten­tial­ly will keep clos­er tabs on the phar­ma mid­dle­men, while al­so re­quir­ing phar­ma com­pa­nies to dis­close any large price in­creas­es.

New in­creas­es of 15% or more of the whole­sale ac­qui­si­tion cost of a drug cost­ing $100 or more, dur­ing the pre­ced­ing 12-month pe­ri­od, or any cu­mu­la­tive in­crease of 30% or more of the WAC dur­ing the pre­ced­ing cal­en­dar year, will now have to be re­port­ed to the state.
