Em­ploy­ees in Flori­da IBS tri­al plead guilty for fal­si­fy­ing med­ical records; Cys­tic fi­bro­sis tablet Trikaf­ta now avail­able for chil­dren 6 and old­er

A Flori­da duo who fal­si­fied med­ical records da­ta in con­nec­tion to two clin­i­cal tri­als for ir­ri­ta­ble bow­el syn­drome plead­ed guilty in fed­er­al court this week, the US De­part­ment of Jus­tice an­nounced.

Ed­uar­do Navar­ro, 52, of Mi­a­mi, and Nayade Varona, 50, of Port St. Lu­cie, FL, were em­ploy­ees for Tel­lus Clin­i­cal Re­search. The two ad­mit­ted to fal­si­fy­ing da­ta in med­ical records, among oth­er things, and mak­ing it ap­pear as if they were sub­jects in the tri­al, the US At­tor­ney’s of­fice said in a state­ment.
