HHS to dis­trib­ute 1.6M mon­key­pox vac­cine dos­es this year

Con­firmed mon­key­pox cas­es in the US have now sur­passed 300, and as a re­sult, the De­part­ment of Health and Hu­man Ser­vices is mak­ing hun­dreds of thou­sands of Bavar­i­an Nordic’s vac­cine dos­es avail­able.

HHS has promised to de­liv­er 296,000 dos­es of the Jyn­neos vac­cine — ap­proved to treat both small­pox and mon­key­pox — in the com­ing weeks, in­clud­ing 56,000 dos­es which will be avail­able im­me­di­ate­ly.
