Manufacturing roundup: Catalent breaks ground on $20M expansion in Germany; Former J&J facility in PA sold
Catalent has kicked off construction on a $20 million expansion at its clinical supply facility in Schorndorf, Germany.
The manufacturer is expanding the site by 32,000 square feet with plans to add capacity for the storage of clinical trial supply materials and to create space to accommodate a new bottle-filling line. The work is expected to be finished in June of next year.
“Additional temperature-controlled handling, storage, and distribution means the facility is well-equipped to respond to the growing demand for clinical supply capacity and services in the region, including for products requiring cold chain support,” said Ricky Hopson, president and division head for Clinical Development & Supply at Catalent, in a release.
