MDMA psychotherapy trial put on pause after Health Canada inspection
A Canadian clinical trial investigating MDMA-assisted psychotherapy has been put on hold by Health Canada over some stark breaks in clinical good practices.
According to a report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Phase II trial sponsored by a mental health charity, the Remedy Institute, was issued a non-compliant rating on June 22 by Health Canada.
Health Canada’s found a multitude of concerns with the trial including the institute not following the trial’s overall protocol.
