Merck aims to increase awareness for lung cancer screening in a new campaign.

Mer­ck con­fronts stig­ma and fear around lung can­cer screen­ing in ed­u­ca­tion­al cam­paign

As Mer­ck looks to ex­pand its cash cow Keytru­da in­to ear­li­er lines of can­cer, the com­pa­ny’s mar­ket­ing team is en­cour­ag­ing pa­tients to meet sci­en­tists halfway.

Its cam­paign, “Fo­cus on Your Lungs,” de­buted on Wednes­day to help spread the word about an­nu­al lung can­cer screen­ing. While the five-year prog­no­sis for lung can­cer wors­ens dras­ti­cal­ly as the dis­ease pro­gress­es, less than 6% of those at high risk got screened in 2021, ac­cord­ing to Mer­ck.
