On a mission to reshape Sanofi, Paul Hudson takes a slight pay cut

Upon reaffirming his push to reshape Sanofi last month, CEO Paul Hudson warned that cuts were in order, with nothing “off the table” — apparently, that includes his pay package.

The pharma chief took a slight pay cut last year, raking in just under $12.2 million, down from $12.6 million in 2020. Most of that’s due to a €360,750 decrease in the valuation of his performance shares awarded in 2021 compared to 2020. His base pay remained the same at €1.3 million (just over $1.4 million), and he saw a slightly higher cash bonus of €2.3 million (nearly $2.6 million).
