Pfizer completes $6.7B Arena deal after clock runs out on FTC objection period
Pfizer’s $6.7 billion acquisition of Arena Pharmaceuticals is officially closed.
The two completed the buyout Friday morning, Pfizer said in a press release, apparently facing no hurdles at the FTC after President Biden’s administration had signaled a tougher stance on big-name mergers. It’s another Big Pharma deal that passed the regulatory process during the supposed crackdown by chair Lina Khan, who arrived as a champion of a renewed antitrust movement.
