Pfizer lands on Fortune’s most admired list, edging out Disney, Google and Starbucks in annual reputation ranking

The Covid-19 vaccine halo continues for Pfizer. This week, the Big Pharma came in at No. 4 on Fortune’s annual ranking of the most admired companies in the world.

Pfizer finished behind a trifecta of tech giants — Apple, Amazon and Microsoft — but landed ahead of Walt Disney, Berkshire Hathaway, Alphabet, Starbucks, Netflix and JPMorgan Chase rounding out the top 10.

Big deal? Actually, yes, it is. A pharma company hasn’t been in the top 10 since 2010 and that was Johnson & Johnson, better known for its consumer products. Pfizer itself hadn’t finished in the top 50 — the group Fortune refers to as its All-Stars list — since 2006. J&J is a reliable All-Stars finisher, this year landing at No. 17, down a bit from No. 15 last year.
