Pfiz­er's blood pres­sure meds re­called due to more can­cer-caus­ing con­t­a­m­i­nants

More ni­trosamines, more prob­lems for Pfiz­er.

The Big Phar­ma is re­call­ing five lots of Ac­cupril, a blood pres­sure drug, af­ter it found el­e­vat­ed lev­els of an agent that could cause can­cer in the tablets. The drug — al­so called Quinapril HCI — is in 10mg, 20mg and 40mg tablets, and has ex­pi­ra­tion dates of March 31, 2023 and May 31, 2022. All five lots con­tain 90-count bot­tles.

No side ef­fects con­nect­ed to the drug have been re­port­ed, Pfiz­er said. The batch­es were dis­trib­uted from De­cem­ber 2019 to April 2022 in the US and Puer­to Ri­co. Those lot num­bers are:
