Pfizer's blood pressure meds recalled due to more cancer-causing contaminants
More nitrosamines, more problems for Pfizer.
The Big Pharma is recalling five lots of Accupril, a blood pressure drug, after it found elevated levels of an agent that could cause cancer in the tablets. The drug — also called Quinapril HCI — is in 10mg, 20mg and 40mg tablets, and has expiration dates of March 31, 2023 and May 31, 2022. All five lots contain 90-count bottles.
No side effects connected to the drug have been reported, Pfizer said. The batches were distributed from December 2019 to April 2022 in the US and Puerto Rico. Those lot numbers are:
