Sen­ate health com­mit­tee chair de­mands No­vo, Sanofi drop in­sulin costs af­ter Lil­ly

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has long been crit­i­cal of Big Phar­ma, and in light of Eli Lil­ly’s price cuts on its in­sulins yes­ter­day, which Sanders praised, he’s call­ing on No­vo Nordisk and Sanofi to do the same.

The iden­ti­cal let­ters from March 1 ad­dressed to No­vo Nordisk CEO Lars Fruer­gaard Jør­gensen and Sanofi CEO Paul Hud­son in­sist­ed that the two com­pa­nies join Eli Lil­ly in low­er­ing the price of in­sulin.
