Ther­mo Fish­er posts the help want­ed sign as it up­grades sin­gle-use man­u­fac­tur­ing ca­pac­i­ty in Penn­syl­va­nia for sec­ond time in two years

A Ther­mo Fish­er Sci­en­tif­ic sin­gle-use man­u­fac­tur­ing site in Penn­syl­va­nia is get­ting a mul­ti­mil­lion dol­lar up­grade and adding 100 new jobs as part of a much larg­er in­vest­ment plan to up its ca­pac­i­ty of crit­i­cal ma­te­ri­als used in Covid-19 vac­cines.

The Millers­burg, PA site has helped more than 20 dif­fer­ent phar­mas since the start of the pan­dem­ic, Mitch Kennedy, pres­i­dent of sin­gle-use tech­nolo­gies re­vealed in a state­ment. It will get a $40 mil­lion ex­pan­sion to help with the de­vel­op­ment of new vac­cines, can­cer treat­ments and break­through ther­a­pies.
