Two top execs in Sanofi's R&D group are hitting the exit in a shakeup as Frank Nestle moves up to CSO
Roger Perlmutter isn’t the only Big Pharma R&D exit being announced today.
Sanofi says that Gary Nabel, named chief scientific officer 8 years ago when he was recruited from a top post at the NIH, is hitting the exit. Former R&D president Elias Zerhouni, who knew Nabel well as ex-head of the NIH, recruited him to Sanofi in 2012. Zerhouni retired in 2018.
