UK drug reg­u­la­tor to restart in­spec­tions at the end of March with a fo­cus on so­cial dis­tanc­ing

The UK’s Med­i­cines and Health­care prod­ucts Reg­u­la­to­ry Agency (MHRA) said Fri­day that it will restart its on­site in­spec­tions of drug man­u­fac­tur­ing sites on March 29.

MHRA made clear that the on­site in­spec­tions, which had been sus­pend­ed since Jan. 5, will on­ly oc­cur at sites that have been no­ti­fied at least two weeks in ad­vance un­less there are pub­lic health rea­sons that re­quire short­er no­tice or unan­nounced in­spec­tions. The reg­u­la­tor al­so said it will en­sure lim­it­ed face-to-face in­ter­ac­tions.
