WTO approaches a deal early next week for a Covid-19 vaccine IP waiver
Getting a Covid-19 vaccine IP waiver through the World Trade Organization (WTO) has been a long road filled with revisions and delays, but WTO leadership says that a deal might be in place soon.
TRIPS Council chair, Ambassador Lansana Gberie of Sierra Leone, said as part of a statement from the WTO, that despite the initial difficulties around the waiver, delegations “have entered into real negotiation mode in the last 24 hours.”
