Ver­tex's Resh­ma Ke­wal­ra­mani takes CEO post as long­time vet Jeff Lei­den moves to new role

Close to 8 years af­ter tak­ing the helm at Ver­tex, Jeff Lei­den is hand­ing the CEO job to cur­rent CMO Resh­ma Ke­wal­ra­mani and mov­ing to the ex­ec­u­tive chair­man’s role.

One of the best-known bio­phar­ma ex­ecs in the Boston hub, Lei­den is leav­ing at the top of his game — though his rep has been dinged some­what by a rough-and-tum­ble se­ries of ne­go­ti­a­tions with sin­gle pay­ers in Eu­rope.
