Newly revealed texts from ex-FDA leader Stephen Hahn offer behind-the-scene glimpse into Trump’s Covid scare

The FDA continues to spill internal communications from the previous administration, thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, with the latest data dump including 255 text messages sent to and from former FDA commissioner Steve Hahn, who has since moved on to new roles at Flagship Pioneering and the antimicrobial startup Singletto.

While many of the text messages are redacted, as previous internal email releases were too, those that aren’t reveal a commissioner doing his best to juggle not only internal FDA and media requests, but fires he had to put out with other administration officials, particularly as the former president became severely ill with Covid-19 last October and had to be admitted to Walter Reed medical center.
