Another batch of insulin recalled by Viatris due to a labeling issue
In January, Viatris — the combination of Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer’s Upjohn — was forced to recall a batch of its Semglee insulin pens after they were released without labels, the FDA said.
Earlier this week, the company announced a recall of another batch of insulin glargine for injection, this time in cartridge form, for the same label issue.
This new batch of 10 mL vials, with an expiration date of August 2023, was made by Biocon and distributed by Mylan. The previous fault featured a single batch of non-interchangeable injection, 100 units/ml, 3mL packaged in cartons of five pens with an August 2022 expiration date. The batch number was BF20003118, made by Biocon, and distributed by Mylan.
