As controversy swirls around Canadian drug imports, FDA debars doctor for purchasing cancer meds across the border
As a handful of states continue to push for controversial plans to import cheaper drugs from Canada — where prices often hover at a fraction of the cost in the US — the FDA is debarring a Montana oncologist for doing just that.
The agency has issued an order debarring Marwan Massouh for three years from “providing services in any capacity to a person that has an approved or pending drug product application.” The news comes nearly a decade after he pleaded guilty to illegally importing two cancer drugs from Canada.
