FDA says it won't allow state-licensed pharmacists to prescribe Merck's Lagevrio
Covid-19 patients will have to call a doctor to get Merck’s antiviral Lagevrio — at least for now.
The federal agency will not allow state-licensed pharmacists to prescribe Merck’s Covid-19 antiviral, also known as molnupiravir. The news comes a couple of days after the FDA decided to allow state-licensed pharmacists to prescribe Pfizer’s two-part antiviral Paxlovid with some limitations.
