Alnylam sues Moderna and Pfizer again over Covid-19 vaccine patent infringement
The patent battle over Covid-19 vaccine delivery technology intensified yesterday after Alnylam Pharmaceuticals yet again accused Moderna and Pfizer of violating patents.
In two separate lawsuits filed Tuesday, Alnylam said that the vaccine makers infringed on its patent relating to lipid nanoparticle technology that has been central to delivering mRNA into human cells.
“The Alnylam LNP Technology is foundational to the success of the recently developed messenger RNA (‘mRNA’) based COVID vaccines,” according to the lawsuits filed in Delaware federal court.
