BioNTech allies with Australian state, initializing plans to construct new R&D and manufacturing facilities

While companies are expanding their facilities in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, BioNTech is looking to break new ground on the land down under.

BioNTech announced earlier Friday that it signed what’s called a “Letter of Intent” with the state of Victoria and a part of Australia — agreeing on a partnership between the two entities on mRNA therapies and vaccines. A letter of intent, which infers an understanding between two parties, is not yet a formal, legally binding agreement.
