CDC survey reveals Covid-19 vaccination rates for children remain low
As new Omicron subvariants rise in prevalence, the latest CDC data show that vaccination coverage among children remains low.
Only about 5.9% of children below the age of 2 and 8.8% of children 2 to 4 years old had received at least one vaccine dose as of early November, according to the CDC’s administrative data. To get a grasp on those low numbers, the agency analyzed data from 4,496 “National Immunization Survey-Child COVID Module interviews” conducted back in July. The interviews addressed factors such as sociodemographic characteristics and parental beliefs about Covid-19.
