AbbVie steps up to the plate with MLB player for IBD awareness
When Dexter Fowler was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at age 22, he bought a book called Crohn’s and Colitis for Dummies. There were few online resources to help him navigate his condition back then. Now it’s part of the reason why the recently retired Major League Baseball player is teaming with AbbVie on its latest inflammatory bowel disease initiative.
AbbVie is launching the Crohn’s and Colitis Companion website and education resource today as a way to help patients and physicians learn about their disease along with tools — such as a restroom access card — to help manage.
