Abridge, an AI start­up for med­ical notes, rais­es $150M

Abridge raised a Se­ries C just four months af­ter its last round, as in­vestors re­main in­ter­est­ed in bet­ting big on health AI even in a tougher mar­ket for health tech.

Abridge chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer Ju­lia Chapin told End­points News the start­up’s $150 mil­lion round is one of the largest in­vest­ments in health AI so far. Pitts­burgh-based Abridge con­verts vis­its be­tween pa­tients and med­ical pro­fes­sion­als in­to notes us­ing AI, com­pet­ing with play­ers like Mi­crosoft’s Nu­ance, to save clin­i­cians time dur­ing clin­i­cal doc­u­men­ta­tion.
