Ak­ili re­leas­es non-pre­scrip­tion ver­sion of video game dig­i­tal ther­a­py for adults with AD­HD

Adults with AD­HD can now use a ver­sion of Ak­ili’s video game-like dig­i­tal ther­a­py with­out a pre­scrip­tion af­ter its pre­scrip­tion op­tion En­deav­or­Rx showed pos­i­tive re­sults in at­ten­tion func­tion­ing and oth­er AD­HD symp­toms in adults a month ago.

The “im­mer­sive” video game that’s now avail­able on the Ap­ple app store, called En­deav­orOTC, is built us­ing the same tech as En­deav­or­Rx, which is al­ready cleared for chil­dren aged 8 to 12 years and is the first and on­ly FDA-au­tho­rized video game treat­ment, ac­cord­ing to the biotech.
