Alex Denner is out at Biogen as new CEO Viehbacher crafts a fresh board with Susan Langer, Caroline Dorsa

Biogen’s big top-level shakeup continued Monday evening with news that Alex Denner — first elected to the board back in 2009 when he spearheaded Carl Icahn’s bid to engineer a tumultuous turnaround — is following longtime chairman Stelios Papadopoulos on the way out the exit.

And he’s not going alone. Richard Mulligan, the famous Harvard professor who joined Denner on the board during the revolt, is also out the exit door, along with William Jones — who chaired the compensation and management committee.
