Am­gen teams up with Ama­zon on AI plat­form to en­hance new Ohio man­u­fac­tur­ing site

Am­gen is ex­pand­ing its col­lab­o­ra­tion with Ama­zon Web Ser­vices (AWS) to cre­ate new AI so­lu­tions with an eye on im­prov­ing the man­u­fac­tur­ing process for the Big Phar­ma’s med­i­cines to treat se­ri­ous dis­eases.

Un­der the ex­pand­ed deal, Am­gen will run a dig­i­tal da­ta and an­a­lyt­ics plat­form pow­ered by AWS’ ma­chine learn­ing ser­vice — Ama­zon Sage­Mak­er — at its new med­i­cines as­sem­bly and pack­ag­ing fa­cil­i­ty. The plat­form will col­lect and an­a­lyze man­u­fac­tur­ing da­ta dai­ly to “in­crease op­er­a­tional ef­fi­cien­cy and sus­tain­abil­i­ty,” ac­cord­ing to AWS. Fi­nan­cial terms of the col­lab­o­ra­tion were not dis­closed.
