Amneal lays off more than a dozen employees at Long Island facility as operations wind down

As generic drug company Amneal Pharmaceuticals plans to shutter a manufacturing facility in the Long Island town of Hauppauge, NY by the end of the year, the company announced recently it’s laying off 13 of its employees there by the end of the year.

According to the WARN notice from the New York State Department of Labor, the oral solids site had 89 employees prior to the layoffs, and the remaining 76 employees are expected to work at the facility until March of next year. The notice did not say if those employees would be laid off, but Amneal is restructuring operations in Hauppauge, and it will eventually close the site in March 2023.
