Some­times celebri­ties are care­givers too. Ac­tor and au­thor Hen­ry Win­kler, best known for his ‘70s TV role as “The Fonz,” fits that de­scrip­tion and is now speak­ing up about an ad­vanced form of mac­u­lar de­gen­er­a­tion af­ter his ex­pe­ri­ence with his fa­ther-in-law.

Win­kler is work­ing with Apel­lis Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals as spokesman for its “GA Won’t Wait” ge­o­graph­ic at­ro­phy (GA) dis­ease aware­ness cam­paign be­gin­ning with me­dia in­ter­views and so­cial posts but ex­pand­ing to in­clude TV and ra­dio ads lat­er this year.
