As new monkeypox cases spike globally, Labcorp rolls out first national lab test
With new cases of monkeypox spiking around the world, officials at the WHO are planning to reconvene in the coming days to see what countermeasures may be needed. And Labcorp reports today that it is ramping up the first monkeypox test offering from a national lab.
The CDC is tracking close to 7,000 worldwide cases, with clusters in several European countries. That’s up from 5,800 on Friday. And with limited testing, a number of experts say it’s likely that the cases are being undercounted.
