AstraZeneca's latest NHL sponsorship encourages cancer screenings, on the heels of a new survey revealing big gaps in awareness.

AstraZeneca encourages NHL fans to get 'body checked' for cancer

AstraZeneca is building out its cancer collaboration with the National Hockey League in conjunction with its newly-published survey that found big gaps in public awareness of cancer screenings.

The survey of 4,600 adults in the US showed that three-fourths didn’t know that lung cancer screening is recommended, as was the case for recommendations for cervical cancer (68%), colorectal cancer (65%), prostate cancer (57%) and breast cancer (51%). All five cancers are recommended by the US Preventive Services Task Force for screening tests depending on individual age and risk.
