Biden appoints Brown's public health school dean as new White House Covid-19 coordinator

Ashish Jha has made a name for himself as not only Brown University’s public health school dean but also as a diligent explainer of the ins and outs of the pandemic, amassing hundreds of thousands of followers on television broadcasts and Twitter for his pragmatic missives.

Now Jha is taking his Covid-19 ideas to the White House, where he’ll serve as President Biden’s new top lead on the virus. The timing of his entry into DC couldn’t come at a more critical moment, as Congress has stalled in providing additional funding to pay for more vaccine doses and treatments for states, and as supplies may run short soon.
