Biogen lays off more employees after reducing headcount last year
Biogen confirmed to Endpoints News it has recently told “some” of its US workers that they would be laid off.
A spokesperson declined to say how many employees or the types of roles involved. The unit mainly affected was the multiple sclerosis team, per a Monday morning report in the Boston Business Journal.
The staff reduction is a “result of decisions designed to optimize our business strategies and align our cost and revenue base,” the spokesperson said, adding that the impacted employees can get severance and support services, and can apply for positions elsewhere within the company.
