Black­stone in­vests $50M in PTC, lines up $1B loan to sup­port deal­mak­ing

The speed bump that lit­tle PTC Ther­a­peu­tics ran in­to with its Hunt­ing­ton’s pro­gram didn’t stop one of the most deep-pock­et­ed in­vestors in the life sci­ences space from plac­ing a big bet on its pipeline.

Black­stone is com­mit­ting up to $1 bil­lion in fund­ing for PTC. The mon­ey will come in a mix of for­mats, but per­haps most sig­nif­i­cant is the $500 mil­lion the biotech can tap to “sup­port busi­ness de­vel­op­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties” Black­stone agrees on.
