Boehringer In­gel­heim caps in­haler out-of-pock­et costs at $35 af­ter po­lit­i­cal pres­sure

Af­ter Sen­ate De­moc­rats on the health com­mit­tee pressed in­haler man­u­fac­tur­ers on their high US prices ear­li­er this year, Boehringer In­gel­heim said Thurs­day that it would cap out-of-pock­et costs at $35 per month for all of its in­halers.

The low­er out-of-pock­et costs, how­ev­er, won’t be­gin un­til June, and gov­ern­ment re­stric­tions ex­clude peo­ple en­rolled in fed­er­al in­sur­ance pro­grams from co­pay sup­port, ac­cord­ing to BI.
