Am­gen and Hori­zon can close their $28B deal af­ter re­solv­ing law­suit by the FTC

Am­gen has set­tled with the Fed­er­al Trade Com­mis­sion af­ter the US reg­u­la­tor in May had tried block­ing the Cal­i­for­nia drug­mak­er’s pro­posed near­ly $28 bil­lion ac­qui­si­tion of Hori­zon Ther­a­peu­tics.

The deal is ex­pect­ed to close ear­ly next quar­ter now, the com­pa­nies said Fri­day morn­ing.

Am­gen and Hori­zon en­tered in­to a con­sent or­der agree­ment with the FTC, which will re­solve the agency’s pend­ing ad­min­is­tra­tive law­suit, the com­pa­nies said Fri­day morn­ing.
