What’s with Bristol Myers’ R&D job cuts in New Jersey? They’re not saying much
It’s not unusual these days to hear chatter about R&D layoffs, with biotechs of all stripes cutting back and carving out longer runways through cost reductions. But buzz about a burst of Bristol Myers Squibb resumes hitting the market out of New Jersey drew some special attention.
I queried a spokesperson for the company and received this response late Friday:
We recently formed a new Immunology and Cardiovascular Thematic Research Center to better support our R&D programs. As we refocus hiring efforts in connection with that effort, a limited number of our R&D colleagues in New Jersey have been impacted. As always, BMS is working to support all impacted employees.
