Bris­tol My­ers Squibb is lay­ing off 48 em­ploy­ees in New Jer­sey, ac­cord­ing to a WARN no­tice from the state.

The no­tice lists May 31 as the ef­fec­tive date, but it re­mains un­clear what roles are be­ing cut.

A Bris­tol My­ers spokesper­son told End­points News that the phar­ma’s busi­ness mod­el is evolv­ing:

As we move for­ward in 2023, we are con­tin­u­ing to de­liv­er on our long-term busi­ness strat­e­gy by align­ing re­sources to best sup­port our op­er­at­ing mod­el and our port­fo­lio evo­lu­tion.
